01 February 2012 Newsletter Number 252 I'm sorry to begin with such a jaw dropping headline but the fact is that we are now in the middle of a growing epidemic of serious health issues and premature death resulting from overweight and obesity. Dr Andrew Hill of Leeds University, has recently stated that adult obesity is rising by one per cent a year - it doesn't sound that much but in medical statistics that points towards epidemic proportions. He reported that around one in every eleven deaths in the UK is now linked to carrying excess fat – that is a frightening fact! Today, I'm pleading with you to take a good hard long look at your own weight issues and those of your loved ones. Doctors report that being obese can reduce your life by seven years with an even greater reduction if you suffer from some of the serious health related issues - heart conditions, diabetes, high blood pressure etc. My genuine hope is not only to help you lose that unsightly and unhealthy flab but to inspire you to encourage others in your life with the same life threatening problem.
