The Doctor's Diet
I also wanted to let you know that, on your recommendation, I have been trying "The Doctor's Diet" - Dr Michael Spira. Although I did not lose a stone in 10 days (I think that would be a bit drastic anyway!), I lost 7lbs in the first week, nothing the second, and another 2lbs so far 5 days into the 3rd week. I have found the regieme extremely easy to stick with, I never feel hungry and I can only assume that I am very much healthier because of all the good things I am eating. I do miss the carbs, but it's only temporarily, as they can be re-introduced on the maintenance plan. I intend to continue on the introductory stage of the diet until I lose my first stone, and then switch to the maintenance plan, eating only good carbs (most of the time!) with an occasional treat. I should add that my husband has also lost 10lbs so far and is totally committed to the programme!
